Terms & Conditions

Legal Requirements

You must be of legal age to drive and produce a valid UK/Northern Ireland provisional Category B driving Licence.

You must meet the minimum eye sight test requirements 20.5 metres

Fitness to Drive

You must not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol during the training. Any prescribed medication that may affect your driving, should be declared to your instructor and to the DVLA medical board.

If your ADI believes you are not fit, your lesson will be terminated.

Paying for lessons

Lessons must be paid for at least 48hrs in advance of your lesson. This can be paid by cash or bank transfer.

Failure to make payment will result in your lesson being cancelled.

Notification

You must notify your ADI of any changes to your availability or entitlement to have driving tuition, (for example, if your driving licence has been revoked or changes to medical conditions).

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel a lesson, you must provide a minimum of 48 hrs notice. Failure to give notice will result in the lesson being charged for.

Lessons can be cancelled by telephone or text, However text messages must be acknowledged by your ADI, to confirm cancellation.

No Show

Your ADI will wait at the agreed pick up point and time for a maximum of 10 minutes. If no contact is made, they will leave. You will be charged for this lesson.

If your ADI needs to Cancel/Rearrange

Your ADI will endeavour to arrive at the agreed time and location of your lesson.

Due to unforeseen circumstances such as traffic hold ups, accidents and breakdown, they may need to cancel or rearrange your lesson. This will be arranged as soon as possible to suit you and maintain the learning schedule.

Test Ready

You must demonstrate that you are able to drive at a satisfactory standard and are safe to be on the road, before you will be permitted to book your driving test.

If it is believed that you are under the influence of alcohol/drugs or you are unfit to drive, the ADI has the responsibility to not allow you to use the training vehicle for the purpose of the driving test.

Driving Test Bookings

Your ADI will discuss booking your test, when it is agreed between both parties that you are ready.

You must not book a test without prior consultation with your ADI, in order to avoid double booking of tests.

Driving Test Cancellations

No responsibility will be taken for tests being cancelled by the DVSA for whatever the reason.

Lessons will still have to be paid for but can be claimed back from the DVSA.

The ADI cannot be responsible if you fail because of your eyesight test.

The ADI will be responsible if the test is cancelled due to the condition of their vehicle and will reimburse you the test fee.

Driver Training During Covid 19

N.B. This is an addendum to the existing Terms & Conditions and may be subject to change as new information is received.

The Health and Safety of customers, is paramount to the service that is delivered.

Before The Lesson:

Your ADI will ensure the vehicle has been cleaned prior to your lesson..

You must wash your hands for at least 20 seconds prior to your lesson.

You must arrive in clean clothes.

During the lesson:

There is no longer a requirement to wear a mask, unless you desire.

Disclaimer

It is important that you understand that social distancing is not achievable in this setting. It is vital that information about you and those you are spending time with, is shared honestly in order for us all to remain safe.

Whilst your ADI will endeavour to ensure that measures are taken to avoid the virus being spread, you as the learner have an equal responsibility to not put the ADI and other learners at risk.

You should therefore follow the government’s guidance at all times.

Your ADI could become exposed to the virus, and may have to cancel lessons.

Your ADI takes no responsibility in the event that you contract the Corona Virus and reserves the right to terminate lessons in the event that the above terms are not adhered too.
